Hi Chris & Sue Ellen,
I just wanted to share my cat food “recipe” and to let you know how grateful I am to have access to such high quality food for our cat!
I buy your Chicken pet food, Salmon pet food and chicken livers. Using two standard ice cube trays, I portion out four different varieties – chicken topped with minced liver, straight Salmon, Half chicken / half salmon topped with minced liver, and half chicken / half salmon without liver (liver is great for cats and they love it, but too much of it can cause problems).
Our cat, Rebecca, eats two of these “wet food” (meat) portions per day – my trays last two weeks. I keep them frozen. In the a.m., I feed her the one I thawed in the fridge the night before; after her a.m. feeding, I pop out the next one and thaw it out in the fridge for her p.m. feeding.
Yes, I have to prepare these trays every two weeks, but it only takes me 15 minutes to do it. Then, it does take a little forethought to remember to thaw her next portion…But, Rebecca is eating better than she would from any other canned or packaged food, and I estimate it only costs me $90 / YEAR to give her this level of fresh nutrition. (She does eat dry food, too — Blue Wilderness grain-free, which I “stew” with a little water). I don’t generate the garbage of cat food cans, nor do I have those stinky things piling up for recycling. I also have peace of mind that she’s not ingesting strange fillers / trace ingredients, GMOs, or metal / plastic can liner seepage.
Thanks for all that you do,
Faye
